Bringing talent and forward-thinking businesses together with innovative new job application processes

CamVision has invested in QFinds to bring the job application process in line with modern communications.

Our commitment at CamVision is not only to providing education opportunities to students, but also to helping create tangible bridges between education and exciting career opportunities. We see it as being integral, not only to the professional fulfilment of our students, but also a vital part of our universal development - connecting innovative new talent with thought leaders in technology, science, finance and other industries. For this reason, we have now invested in QFinds, which brings the job application process in line with modern communications.

The need for a new approach to job application processes

Existing recruitment platforms still hinge on a traditional hiring process of collating CVs and sifting through them. For companies, the process is lengthy, often expensive, and flawed. For example, up to £10,000 is charged by recruiters for the mid-weight or senior level role (15-20% of the annual salary), hiring takes anywhere from a few days to four months according to LinkedIn’s 2017 global survey, and if it doesn’t work out, a poor hire can cost a business at a mid-manager level with a salary of £42,000 as much as £132,000.

Furthermore, the job market is set to get more competitive than ever in the next couple of years, with different skills being prioritised and the traditional CV model proving inadequate to really conveying a candidate’s suitability for a role. Soft skills are increasingly recognised for their importance, alongside technical knowledge, and digital-native candidates are embracing video technology to demonstrate their personality, individualism, creativity and technological awareness. With that in mind, 42% of employers are said to be worried that they won’t be able to find the talent they need.

A solution that works intuitively with the way we communicate and recognises market needs

QFinds was founded by CEO Farid Gasanov, a University of Leicester graduate, former CFO of Splento and Associate at PwC. He is also the founder and CEO of a previous, successful start-up, Q Accountant. He works with CTO Andriy Gordiychuk, a University of Cambridge graduate, former CIO at CUTEC and lead iOS/macOS developer. It is a video CV marketplace. It offers an efficient and cost-effective way to find the best talent that not only matches candidates with job requirements, but also looks at whether someone will fit in with the company culture. It is aimed at harnessing the way in which we communicate today, allowing everything to be done in-platform, from advertising to applications, interviews and job offers. It makes the process easier and more intuitive to both organisations and applicants, through a user-friendly free app.

At CamVision Education, my team and I are dedicated to supporting students to develop the skills they need to enter the workplace, and access the opportunities available to them. Meanwhile, at our CamVision Technology arm, we are committed to helping the most innovative technological solutions discover the funding and resources they need to thrive so that we can all benefit from their groundbreaking ideas. We see this as an excellent extension to our remote work placement opportunities, helping students to turn the experience they gain with us into exciting and fulfilling permanent jobs after university.

Bringing together new talent and forward thinking business and technology is the foundation on which we are building exciting futures for the benefit of all. Making that process more streamlined is part of the nuts and bolts that make that happen.
